Katija Buslje Odoemelam.

A creative ceramist and entrepreneur, envisioned Nextmatchup as a way to foster deep, meaningful connections in an age of digital detachment.

Inspired by the organic connections found in artisanal communities and social dining experiences, she and her Husband designed Nextmatchup to bridge the gap between digital and real-life interactions.

About

Next Matchup is a social event platform designed to bring people together in real life through three event categories: Romantic Meetups, Dinner with Strangers, and Meetups with Creatives. Users can choose to participate in one, two, or all three of these categories and are then matched for carefully curated in-person events held twice a month. It is not a site for online chats, but for real interactions, shared experiences, and real conversations in real life.

How We Host

We currently host meetups in 11 cities, with more cities being added as our community grows. Whether you are looking to spark a romantic connection, share a meal through Dinner with Strangers, or exchange ideas at a Meetup with Creatives, NextMatchup creates spaces where people can connect beyond the screen.

Our Venues

Each event is organized in real venues, vetted for comfort and authenticity. Users simply register, choose their preferred meetup category, and we handle the rest, matching participants, confirming spots, and ensuring everyone has a memorable experience.

NextMatchup isn’t just another app, it’s a growing global movement to reconnect people through real experiences, one city at a time.

Why Next Matchup Was Created

Next Matchup was created because modern social platforms solved communication but forgot about connection. People became good at watching life instead of living it. Likes replaced laughter. Messages replaced memories.

As routines grew busier and cities felt more isolating, loneliness quietly became normal. The idea behind Next Matchup was to make meeting people feel normal again. Not random. Not awkward. Just human.
